When not wandering outdoors or making my living space as cozy as possible, I'm covering offices in KY, AZ, and MI as a locum tenens dentist while finding a great fit for starting my post-residency practice of periodontics.
Some of my professional interests and passions include patient education and communication, periodontal plastic surgery, women's health, lasers, and advocacy.
Healthy teeth need healthy gums and support structures. As a general dentist, I saw how foundational this is to the success of dental treatment and to overall health. Working with patients to achieve and maintain periodontal health lays the foundation for oral health for a lifetime.
Some areas of interest that led me to periodontics:
hard and soft tissue augmentation
hormonal influence on periodontal health and disease
oral microbiology
utilization of lasers in dentistry
prevention and management of peri-implantitis
systemic and localized inflammation
My certificate in Periodontics was completed at the University of Kentucky Division of Periodontology and Implantology where I served as Chief Resident in my 3rd year. Go Cats!
I obtained my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine (Pomona, CA) in July 2020. I was involved with many groups, on and off campus, and was honored with the Class of 2020 Award and the California Dental Association Outstanding Senior Award in my graduating year.
My Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Leadership was completed at the University of Detroit Mercy College of Engineering and Science, (Detroit, MI) in 2016. After four years of leadership, service, and research, I was named 2016 Science Student of the Year and granted the Linsenmeyer Award for Service.
Attending Oakland Early College (Farmington Hills, MI) allowed me to dual enroll in college courses while in high school. In 2012, I earned my high school diploma, an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from Oakland Community College, and recognition for leadership and community building.
